Dogs Trust Shoreham share a recent trip to a local Careers Day.
We caught up with Lisa, one of the Supporter Relation Officers at Dogs Trust Shoreham, who told us about her recent trip to a Careers Day at a local school.
This week I had a new challenge, to visit a local school's Careers Day and talk about working for Dogs Trust!
Children from Year 1 to Year 6 had the opportunity to visit my information table and ask questions about working at Dogs Trust, while having a go at using our microchip scanner and using flash cards to match potential adopters with their most suitable dog.
Some children even dressed up for the occasion; I met vets, animal welfare officers and even a wannabe policeman!
We then sat down as focus groups to go into more detail. I was asked some fantastic questions such as how Dogs Trust fundraises to continue helping dogs, where do our dogs come from, how many dogs have I seen get rehomed (thousands!), why do I have so many keys and have I watched a dog being born (yes!)
It was a great opportunity to spread the word about our work and hear how much the future generations of dog owners love their pets, care about welfare and know how to keep safe.
