2017 Summary: How many dogs found forever homes at Dogs Trust Shoreham?

Labrador, Husky, Shih Tzu, Terrier, Pointer, Spaniel, Pomeranian, Pug, Saluki, Greyhound, Lurcher, Rottweiler, Collie, Bulldog, German Shepherd, Basset Hound, Beagles and many the Crossbreed — a variety of dogs, of all characters, colours, shapes and sizes made their way through our doors.

Dogs are handed over into our care for a multitude of reasons and more often than not, through no fault of their own. No matter what their background, our furry-friends all have one thing in common — they long to be loved.

This year, despite the refurbishment of one of our kennel blocks, resulting in less capacity to occupy as many dogs as usual, we still managed to successfully find 284 homeless hounds a place to call forever, including several of our longer term residents!

To our amazing staff, volunteers, sponsors and supporters, we would like to say a huge THANK YOU once again to all who have helped us realise the dreams of the 284 dogs who are now living happily ever after, in the company of their special someone.

With our continuous fight to see an end to puppy farms and smuggling, the implementation of the microchipping law, and through the nationwide launch of our Dog School classes, we are looking hopeful for a future of responsible dog ownership.

As always, Dogs Trust is working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.

Here’s to a happy and optimistic 2018, two and four-legged alike. After all, it is the Year of the Dog!
