Could these rescue dogs put a spring in your step?

We may still be firmly in spring, but at Dogs Trust Loughborough plans are well underway for their Summer Fun Day on Sunday 28 July - and all of these dogs are hoping that they will be happily settled into their forever homes by the time the big day comes around.

This year’s event, which is the rehoming centre’s biggest fundraising event of the year, will take place at Turnpost Farm in Wymeswold and will include fun and games for all the family including the ever-popular Fun Dog Show which includes classes such as Best Biscuit Catcher and Best Tail Wagger and have-a-go agility.

But for those who don’t have a canine companion with them on the day, there’s still lots to enjoy - a craft fair, charity stalls, raffles, tombolas, a children’s area including lots of fun rides and refreshments.

Here are some of the dogs currently looking for homes at the centre.

Border Collie Cross Frankie, who is three, is a sensitive boy and would love a home with patient owners who can build his confidence. He could live with older teenagers and potentially another dog.

Badger, an eight-year-old Jack Russell, has been without a home for far too long and has his paws crossed for a quiet home with no other pets.

Nine-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, Vernon, loves to be busy so is looking for owners who like to head out on a nice long walk but who will also be happy to help him keep his brain busy.

Pomeranian Latte is ten years old and once he has built a relationship with you he will be your friend for life. He is looking for love with a single person. Could that be you?

Tilly is a tiny nine-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a great personality. She loves her toys and going for lovely walks and would like to live with her canine companion June Bug. She is in foster currently.

June Bug is a twelve-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is living with Tilly in a Dogs Trust foster home. She is a gorgeous, gentle little lady and more than anything in life she loves cuddles.
