Dogs Trust

Happy 3rd Birthday Loughborough

I chose to have my photo taken with Pods because he is such a sweet boy and I was working with him to help him be calmer and more focused. It is really rewarding to form bonds with the dogs and get to know their characters and quirks. I particularly enjoy working with a dog who may have had a difficult time in the past and see them develop, gain confidence and eventually find a loving home. The role of canine carer can be challenging at times but I feel I've learnt a lot over the last three years and I can honestly say it's the best job I've ever had.

The last 3 years have certainly flown by since the centre was built and we had our first group of dogs looking for homes. It's been an eye opening experience for me working at DT and it's been interesting to see the developments in Canine Behaviour and Training since when I first started out in the industry 15 years ago. I have really enjoyed my work with my Project dogs, seeing their progression every day until they find their forever homes. It's very rewarding and I love to see their happy little faces each morning, it's a good way to start the day :)
