Dogs Trust Kenilworth thanks its team of volunteers this Christmas
This Christmas, Dogs Trust Kenilworth is paying homage to its incredible volunteers who offer year-round support to the centre's four-legged friends as they await their forever homes.
Dogs Trust Kenilworth relies on volunteers to help out with a variety of tasks over the Christmas period and on Christmas Day - from cleaning the kennels to walking the dogs, some also help give out special treats that have been saved especially for the dogs.
One of these such volunteers is Annie Wilson who has been volunteering at the rehoming centre for two years and helps with everything from walking and socialising the dogs, as well as cleaning the kennels and even fundraising.
"When I was asked if I could help out over the festive period I jumped at the chance - I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be! Throughout the year we all work so hard to give the dogs the best possible time whilst they wait for their forever homes and we feel it's especially important to do that over Christmas.
"Whilst the dogs don't know it's Christmas and we can't offer them their own sofa or a roaring fire to relax in front of, we will be making sure they all feel special and don't miss out on any of the fun!"
Dogs Trust is reliant on its team of volunteers, which is now nearing 1,500 helpers including 170 at Dogs Trust Kenilworth, and each and every one makes a difference to the dogs lives and helps ensure the kennels are full of happy hounds whilst they wait to meet their special someone. From helping in the laundry room to getting into the kennel for some cuddle time with the dogs, the host of volunteers are an integral to Dogs Trust.
