Rescue doggy dopplegangers are two Blue ahead of Monday
Two Dogs Trust residents have a lot more in common than just needing new homes
It’s a case of seeing double at Dogs Trust Glasgow and West Calder as both rehoming centres have come into the care of a pair of identical dogs with the same name. Both dogs, named Blue and Blu, are blue Lurchers with identical patterns of white on their stomachs and toes; and will be looking for equally special homes on ‘Blue Monday’.
With one aged two and the other aged three years old, there isn’t much that would allow you to tell these dogs apart, except for their unique ears and small nose markings. Canine carers at Dogs Trust Glasgow say Blu has ears that behave as if they have a life of their own, whereas Dogs Trust West Calder’s canine carers have noticed their Blue prefers his ears to stick out as if he is using them as wings.
Susan Tonner, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust West Calder, said:
“The resemblance between these dogs is uncanny, even in their personality traits; and both arrived at Dogs Trust with their names already given to them. We decided there was no better time to showcase these adorable chaps than on ‘Blue Monday’, a day when people could really use some cheering up.”
Claire Cairney, Assistant Manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow, said:
“Both dogs are looking for adult only homes with previous experience of the breed. As both dogs are still young they will need lots of attention and exercise, as well as committed owners who believe a dog is for life and are willing to continue their training. Both dogs would also prefer to be the only dog in the household.”
