Dog charity all set for family fun day

There’ll be fun and games for all the family and four-legged friends on Sunday (17 July) when Dogs Trust Darlington holds it annual Summer Fun Day.

The event, to be held at South Park, Darlington, will give dog-owners and their dogs a chance to shine with fun competitions including Best Puppy, Most Golden Oldie, Most Fabulous Female and Most Handsome Dog. There will also be games including Egg and Spoon, Dogs Dinner and Musical Mats.

The charity will be microchipping dogs for free and there’s something for everyone with games and activities for children and stalls full of gifts and goodies for dogs and their owners. One of the most popular parts of the day will be the Rehoming Parade, which puts some of the homeless dogs who are currently at the centre, in the spotlight.

Gordon Norrie, Supporter Relations Officer, says:

“The rehoming parade is always really popular and we hope that as well as raising lots of money on the day, some of our dogs will steal the hearts of supporters and find their forever homes!”

The Summer Fun Day is free and runs from 12pm-4pm at South Park, Victoria Embankment, Darlington, DL1 5JS.
