Dogs Trust’s Freedom Project is a dog fostering service for people who are fleeing domestic abuse in Greater London, Hertfordshire, Essex and Yorkshire.
People fleeing domestic abuse are usually unable to take their dogs with them into a refuge so in many cases they are reluctant to leave their home until they know there is somewhere safe for their pets.
Dogs Trust offers a solution by placing dogs into the homes of volunteer foster carers for up to 6 months, until their owners are rehoused and can take them back. Dogs Trust covers all of the dog’s expenses during that time, including food and veterinary costs.
If you would like to refer your dog to our service, or you are interested in becoming a volunteer foster carer, please visit www.dogstrustfreedomproject.org.uk or call us on
