Raffle: terms and conditions

These Terms and Conditions are the Raffle Rules. By entering the Raffle, players agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Dogs Trust Raffles are licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission, account number 4639.

The website is provided by our External Lottery Manager (ELM), Woods Group Limited trading as Woods Valldata. Woods Group Limited is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 3586.

Entry rules

Tickets cost £1 each. Payment must be received and cleared before the draw to be eligible to win a prize. 

The closing date for postal entries is 30 May 2024 at 11.59pm

The closing date for online entries is 2 June 2024 at 11.59pm

The draw will take place on 6 June 2024.

Entrants will not be eligible for a refund after the draw date and any payments processed thereafter will be treated as a donation. 

When ordering paper ticket books, you can order up to 90 tickets at a time. If you wish to order more, please contact us at lotteries@dogstrust.org.uk, or call us on 020 7833 7672.

Please note that, in accordance with Gambling Commission Rules:

  • You must be aged 18 years or over to buy or sell Raffle tickets.
  • This Raffle is only open for residents of Great Britain. Residents of Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are unfortunately not eligible to take part.
  • Tickets must not be sold to a person in any street. For these purposes ‘street’ includes any bridge, road, lane, footway, subway, square, court, alley or passage.
  • Dogs Trust licensees and employees directly responsible for the Raffle and its’ ELM employees involved in its operations are excluded from playing the Raffle.
  • Due to UK gambling legislation, we cannot accept credit card payments for Raffle tickets

Underage gambling is an offence. The rules for this Raffle require entrants to be over the age of 18, therefore players will be required to provide their DOB and to affirm that they are of legal age.

Dogs Trust reserves the Right to require proof of identity and age when entering the Raffle. Any person who has entered and/or participated in the Raffle who is subsequently found to be underage will: 

  • Forfeit any prize. 
  • Receive a full refund.
  • Not receive any prizes that might have been due to them, and if prizes have already been paid out, all reasonable attempts will be made to recover them. 

Raffle draw

Raffle prizes are drawn at random. A randomised computer generator determines which prizes are to be draw from online or offline entries. 

Online entries are chosen by a random number generator, and offline entries are drawn by hand. The first winner drawn is awarded the first prize, the second winner drawn is awarded the second prize, and third winner drawn is awarded third prize. The draw will continue in a similar fashion until all prizes are drawn and awarded. 

In the instance of the Bonus Draw, a winner is selected at random from all participants whose total ticket sales are equal to or over £60.

Winners & Prizes

We will attempt to notify all winners by either post, email or telephone. Winners will be required to verify their bank details over the phone, before any prize winnings are paid by BACS payment. 

Only under extenuating circumstances, Dogs Trust will be prepared to pay a winner of a cash prize by cheque. The promoter’s discretion is final on releasing the prize winnings. 

A list of the winning ticket numbers, initial, surname and town of winners’ will be published here. e.g. J Bloggs from Swindon.

Second prize - £5000
Third prize - £2500
Fourth prize - £1000
Fifth prize - £750
Sixth prize - £500
Seventh prize - £250
Bonus Draw - £100 M&S Voucher 
Top Dog Prize – Bottle of Champagne

The winners of the Bonus Draw and Top Dog Prize will have their prizes posted to their address provided.

We will make every effort to contact each winners, for those who couldn't be contacted within 6 months of the draw, their prize will be classed as forfeited and treated as a donation. 

Responsible gaming

The Raffle is intended to be a fun way to support the charitable aims and vital work of Dogs Trust. If you feel that you have a problem with gambling, we have a Responsible Gambling Policy, whereby if you wish to be self-excluded from the Lucky Pups Lotto and Raffle, please complete this form or speak to a member of our friendly team on 0207 837 0006 who will be happy to assist you.

Once self-excluded, you will be opted out from Dogs Trust Lucky Pups Lotto and Raffles for a minimum period of 6 months. Any self-exclusion period may, on request, can be extended for one or more further periods of at least 6 months and up to 5 years.

During your self-exclusion, any attempts to enter our Lucky Pups Lotto and Raffle during this period will be refused, refunded and consequently these entries will be deleted.
You will also be opted out of all marketing material during the self-exclusion period, to ensure you are not sent any gambling related communications. 

You will not be able to leave the scheme before the exclusion period has expired. At the end of the self-exclusion period, your marketing preference will not automatically change and remain in place for a minimum of 7 years. 
At the end of your chosen self-exclusion period, if you wish to become opted-in, you will need to instruct us in writing with the contact details above.

Proceeds

In 2023 Dogs Trust received £845,703 in Raffle ticket sales, of which 35% were attributable to our charitable activities. This includes essential care for the dogs across our 21 rehoming centres, running costs, and our campaign work such as education, neutering, and microchipping. After these proceeds, 4.2% was spent on prizes, and the remaining on the running costs and governance of the Raffle. The likelihood of winning a prize in one of our Raffles is 1 in 46,984.

Restrictions and Liability

Dogs Trust or its’ ELM shall not be liable for: 

  • Any entries or communications which are damaged, lost, stolen or delayed in the post; 
  • Any late bank payments; 
  • Any failure or inability to award a prize due to any errors or omissions in the data provided or due to any failure by the participant to update the Society with any changes to the contact data provided; 
  • Any delays or failures in any software or other systems used by Dogs Trust or its ELM for the administration of the Raffle; 
  • Any refusal by Dogs Trust to accept an entry or the cancellation of an entry 
  • Any event beyond the reasonable control of Dogs Trust or its ELM; and 
  • Any loss or damage incurred by a participant in connection with their entry to the Raffle or use of any prize. 

Dogs Trust may amend these terms and conditions at any time. 

Dogs Trust will notify all participants of any significant changes to these terms and conditions via this website or by contacting you directly using the contact details provided on entry to the Raffle.
