COVID-19 info: Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public but you can still adopt some of our dogs: take a look at their profiles to see which ones. We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe.

Nelson from Shrewsbury (Shropshire)

My first visit to the Dogs Trust was just to meet Nelson (spaniel cross retriever) , I wasn't expecting to fall for him quite so quickly! 2 weeks later I'm bringing him home to Wales. He soon settled in, found his favourite sofa and made friends with all my work colleagues. There are more dogs then staff at the centre I work at, Nelson has a new best friend in the form of a 5 month out Sprollie and loves nothing better then chasing around the fields with him. A month after adopting him and he has climbed 2 mountains, been on powerboats and many canoe sessions (with his doggy aid). IHe is still very greedy with his food and is now learning to like toys! I am an outdoor instructor and he loves coming to work with me, just as well he likes rainy days! He is fantastic with the groups we get in and likes making new friends. Nelsons favourite outdoor activity is without a doubt the all day mountain days! At the end of the day theres' nothing he likes more then stretching out on the sofa and snoring for hours! What a fantastic dog, we can't wait for our next adventure!
