Are you right for Misty?

Misty is a beautiful two-year-old with a friendly disposition. She loves the company of her humans and will become increasingly attentive once she knows you. However, she can be shy when first making friends and prefers a ‘no pressure’ approach to building a bond. While Misty is happy to see most dogs out and about, she may become over-aroused when they come too close, especially smaller pooches. She could have well-matched walking buddies with dogs of a similar size and playstyle to herself but will need to be the only dog at home. Care will also need to be taken around other animals, such as livestock and cats, as she does have a high prey drive and will need to stay on lead. She’s seeking active adopters who are physically confident in managing her size and strength, as she can be strong when pulling to get to something exciting. Working with her on some ‘loose-lead-walking’ training will be hugely beneficial. Misty doesn’t have much experience around children, and due to feeling timid at times, we feel she would be best suited to a home with secondary-school-aged children who could allow her some space from time to time. She’d suit a quieter household where she can enjoy some relaxation as well as fun enrichment activities, and a secure garden of her own to explore. Typical of her breed, Misty likes to use her ‘singing voice’ at times, so she needs adopters who are happy to embrace her chatty nature. Leaving her alone at home should only be built up very gradually and once she is fully settled in.

Is Misty right for you?

Playful and full of fun, Misty loves her toys and is particularly fond of engaging in a game of fetch with her people pals. Once she’s built up a relationship, she shows off her affectionate side and will enjoy gentle fusses or simply hanging out in your company. Misty’s favourite pastimes include going on a long walk to explore exciting new places, playtime in the garden, working her clever brain with fun training or food puzzles, and chilling out with you on the sofa after a day of activity. She’d make for the ideal companion to an active family who have plenty of time to keep her busy, and who could provide her with the peaceful, yet enriching life that she longs for.
