Are you right for Heather?

Heather is a one year old German Shepherd looking for a home with no other pets that can offer her the consistency and love she needs. She has had a lot of change in her short life so far and so will need patient and understanding adopters to help her settle into her new home and appreciate it may take her a little while to fully relax into her new lifestyle. She can be unsure when meeting new people and so is looking for an adult only home with people who are willing to visit her a few times at the centre to build a bond before taking her home. Heather would like someone to be at home with her the majority of the time initially, once settled, leaving hours could be gradually introduced. Heather is underconfident around other dogs and will need to be walked on lead and muzzled when outside of the home so would like a reasonably sized, secure garden of her own for off lead time and so she has someone safe to explore while building confidence with the outside world.

Is Heather right for you?

Heather is a sweet girl who would love calm and patient adopters to help her build her confidence. She has so much potential and would benefit from adopters who are keen on training to teach her some basic skills and to help her blossom in a home. Our Training and Behaviour team will be on hand to offer to offer advice on how best to help Heather settle into her new home. Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.
