If Woofs Were Words - It’s a Pup’s Life
If Woofs Were Words – the campaign that encourages owners to see the world through the eyes of their dogs and make the right choices for their welfare.
With over 125 years of experience working with dogs, the team at Dogs Trust know that there are key things that every puppy wishes they could tell their owner.
It’s a Pup’s Life aims to encourage members of the public looking to add a four legged friend to the family to act responsibly when purchasing a pup. The campaign helps new owners with advice on how best to care for a puppy in the early months and years of their life. The hope is to reduce the number of puppies being passed on from owner to owner, thus reducing the number of strays or unwanted puppies. It’s a Pup’s Life launches on Tuesday 28th March 2017 with Bassetlaw District Council, and will be rolled out across the North of England.
At our Community Events there will be information, support and advice you need for puppies, but we also welcome dogs of all ages. A veterinary nurse will carry out basic health checks, which includes checking eyes, ears, teeth and weight, to make sure your dog is happy, fit and healthy. Alongside the health check, our team will provide advice on diet, training and neutering. Each owner will be provided with a responsible dog ownership pack, including handy tips and useful resources for you to continue to use at home. The team offer free on-the-spot microchipping for dogs that aren’t yet chipped (microchipping is a legal requirement as of April 2016).
