Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Ever wondered how many minutes your dog has walked in a day?

Beautiful Jess was adopted from Dogs Trust Ilfracombe four years ago by Tom, one of our Senior Training & Behaviour Advisors. Since using a PitPat dog activity monitor, he’s discovered that Jess frequently potters around during the night while he’s tucked up in bed, he had no idea she’s so active when he’s asleep! It’s a fun and easy way to keep track of Jess’s daily activity (and sleep pattern!) and has given Tom the reassurance that he’s doing what’s right for Jess’s individual needs. He was amazed to see her activity broken down into minutes spent walking, playing, pottering, and resting, and to see how many miles she’s walked!

“It’s a cool little gadget, and it’s been great to know I’ve been doing the right amount with Jess. I really like that it calculates fitness goals for her in the same way as human trackers. It’s also interesting to see her activity over night so I know what she’s up to when I’m asleep”.
