Dogs Trust

Volunteer at one of our annual Fun Days!

Help us raise pounds for hounds

Two dogs at Dogs Trust Manchester Fun Day

Our Fun Days are our biggest awareness and fundraising events of the year for our rehoming centres.

The events are organised by our Supporter Relations Officers (SROs). Most are held offsite, but some are held at the Rehoming Centre where there is space. They attract nearly 55,000 visitors across the country and we couldn't run them without the support of our volunteers.

We are looking for one-off volunteers to help make our Fun Days a success. This is a lovely opportunity to help with an amazing and fun day out for all. Our one-off Fun Day Volunteers help with the many different activities that are part of our Fun Days.

  • Fun Day volunteer with dog Running a stall – our stalls are one of the best ways to raise funds and we have all sorts, for example raffle and tombola, children’s games and the mystery wine game, this will include cash handling.
  • Marshals – these are vital to help keep the event running smoothly and safely.  Marshals will have an area to look after and ensure that it is kept flowing and clear.
  • Refreshments – serving teas, coffees and food to the public and food hygiene training will be given.
  • Face painting – for the more artistic volunteers, we are always looking for people to man the face painting.  A DBS check will be needed but Dogs Trust will do this.
  • First Aiders – if you are first aid trained we need people to support our external companies.
  • Set up and take down – this is for the physically fit!  Our SROs always need a hand to set up the fields, putting up gazebos etc.  Manual handling training will be given.
  • Parking – some events need help with parking and full training will be given.

If you are interested in volunteering at your local Fun Day, please contact your SRO for more information and fill out an application and reference form.
