My journey to becoming a Special Someone - Part 1

– Thinking about getting a dog

I’ve loved dogs all my life and finally the timing is right to get a new companion. But what type to get and more importantly where to go. It was time to do some research.

I’ve always been a bit of a softie so giving a rescue dog a second chance at life was a no brainer. It was going to be a rescue dog or no dog and so it began.

As with everything all journeys start online so a quick Google threw up so many options on breed and where to get a dog from it was tempting to just to choose the first and quickest options but I wanted to make the right decision.

I knew I didn’t want a puppy, as it wouldn’t fit in with my current lifestyle so an older dog it was

Another quick Google search gave me a list of those rehoming centers local to me and there were so many ones I’d heard of, ones I hadn’t, I decided to go with a name I recognised so I clicked on link to Dogs Trust.
