Diary of a Dogs Trust Dog School graduate

Ben from Surbiton recently bought his puppy Loki along to Dog School Surrey’s classes after hearing from a friend how beneficial they would be in teaching the two of them all the basic skills they would need to live a happy life together.  Ben agreed to let us film their journey.  Watch this film to get a better understanding of how Dog School could help you too…

What is Dog School?

Loki the puupy lying down Dog School is all about making sure you have a strong bond with your dog, understand their behaviour, and know how to react when things don’t go according to plan.

Classes are set up to make you and your pup feel as relaxed and confident as possible, so you can both make the most of all the new information and experiences.

Classes include practical training as well as opportunities for discussion and socialising. There is an opportunity to ask questions and see demonstrations – we’ll do whatever we can to help your dog reach their full potential.

Our Coaches will show you how to teach your dog using rewards that they will really enjoy so that training is always a happy experience.

What is covered in Dog School classes and how much do they cost?

Training skills covered in classes include:

  • teaching your dog to walk nicely on a lead
  • coming back when called if they are off the lead
  • learning to settle and be calm when nothing else is happening
  • how to meet people and other dogs politely

At the end of each class we’ll provide you with training tips for the week ahead and ensure everyone leaves calmly and happily.

Courses cost £55 and last 6 weeks with an initial presentation week, followed by 5 weeks of practical classes with your dog.
