Tribute Funds and Funeral Collections

If you would like to commemorate a dog-lover in your life, or a much-loved dog, then you may wish to consider a funeral collection or tribute in their name.

When a beloved person or pet dies, setting up a tribute fund or funeral collection can be a wonderful way to honour their memory. The money you, your family and friends raise in their memory will mean more dogs are given love, care and commitment, whether in our 21 centres across the UK, or in new forever homes.

The memories you cherish could allow many more dogs and owners to make a life of special memories together too. Thank you for thinking about helping dogs during this difficult time - it really does mean so much.

Funeral Collections

Your loved one’s funeral is an incredibly important moment, and we’re so grateful that you’re thinking about honouring their memory with a collection for Dogs Trust. In this time of grief, finding the right way to honour and celebrate your loved one's life is important. So, we’re here to help you every step of the way.

You can organise a collection for Dogs Trust at a funeral, celebration of life service or at any type of memorial event. For many, it’s a preferred option instead of flowers.

You can collect in-memory donations online by setting up a memorial page on our memory wall. If you would like to take collections in person on the day, we can arrange to send you collection envelopes or donation boxes -- just email us at inmemory@dogstrust.org.uk.

Once you have made your collection and are ready to send it in, you can donate online, or send a cheque to your local rehoming centre, or to our national head office at 17 Wakley Street, London, EC1V 7QR.

Tribute funds

Tribute funds are a dedicated space where family and friends can share treasured memories, messages, stories, and photos to honour the special bond you all share. They’re also able to make donations to Dogs Trust in memory of your loved one.

As well as bringing positivity to such a difficult time, it can be a wonderful way to connect all those who knew your loved one, especially those unable to attend a funeral or service.

Thank you for thinking of creating a tribute fund to help more dogs at such a sad time.

A tribute page is a wonderful way for you to remember your special someone. As well as fundraising, you can share memories, stories and photos of them. Meanwhile, for your family and friends, they can make donations, leave messages of condolence and share memories in celebration of your loved one’s life. These pages can then bring everyone’s support together in one place, enabling you to link to this page easily across social media.

It is easy to set up a tribute page. However, if you need any support, please do email us: inmemory@dogstrust.org.uk

Remembering Bradley

Tribute funds are a wonderful way to honour the memory of a loved one, whether person or pet. Sue Crisp’s son Bradley loved dogs, and so a Dogs Trust tribute fund brought the family great comfort, as well as the knowledge that something positive would come from his passing.

“We are overwhelmed with the amount raised for Dogs Trust in memory of Bradley. We believe this reflects how much he is loved and what a wonderful person he is. Bradley was such a soft kind-hearted boy and loved animals, sometimes more than people!

When thinking of how people could honour Bradley's life, we realised that it would be only fitting to ask for donations to Dogs Trust to continue the love that Bradley shared with his own dogs. Knowing that Bradley’s legacy will be helping lots of other dogs in need brings us great comfort.”

We’re so grateful to Sue for sharing Bradley’s story. Hearing about his love for dogs and the impact his tribute fund has had on his friends and family has truly touched our hearts.
