Are you right for Bengie?

Bengie can live with children over the age of ten but needs to be the only dog at home as he is very avoidant of others. He has a few wonky joints that don't currently cause him any pain, but he does require regular medicated baths for his skin. He is house trained and can be left alone for an hour or two.

Is Bengie right for you?

Little Bengie came in to our care as his owner could no longer care for him and after a shaky start he has begun to settle. Bengie likes people to be patient with him whilst he adjusts to his new life, and gets used to his new surroundings. When he's relaxed he likes to potter about the centre and have a sniff, but he will put the brakes on if it gets too noisy. When can tell that Bengie wants affection but he lets his fear get the better of him at times so he's looking for a family that won't rush him or expect too much of him too soon, but rather will help build his confidence with lots of gentle encouragement. He's not currently at a place where he could share his home with another dog as he tends to avoid them, but he may become used to some company for walks in time. We know he used to love playing with toys in his previous home so if you can get him to that stage, you'll know you have won his heart. Bengie likes cats and used to let them clean his ears!
