Renting with pets can sometimes feel challenging, but it is becoming easier with more support now available for both private tenants and landlords.

Too many dogs are sadly given up for rehoming when owners cannot find suitable pet-friendly housing. That’s why we’ve been working to help people stay together with their pets, while also supporting landlords to feel confident renting to pet owners.

New rules mean most private tenants can request to have a pet in their rental property, and landlords must not unreasonably refuse.

Whether you’re looking for a home with your pet, hoping to adopt, or are a landlord considering tenants with pets, we’re here to help you understand your options and take the next step.
