Are you right for Fred?

Fred is living offsite in a foster home and has come on leaps and bounds, having never experienced home life before. Fred is looking to be the only dog in his home. When out and about he can walk around other dogs and may choose to keep himself to himself. Fred will need a home without cats and small furries. In his foster home, Fred has been fine with a couple of free roaming chickens once he got used to them. Fred is looking for a home with adults (no children) and he is happy to travel in the car. He will need a quiet home environment due to his shy nature. Fred requires a low level of exercise – he has some arthritis as a result of spending his first few years living outside - so gentle plods, short and sweet, and then back for a lovely doze on a comfortable bed. Fred has quickly got the hang of housetraining. He'd love a home with a garden because snoozing in the sunshine is one of Fred's favourite pastimes! He has been happy being left for a few hours in his foster home this will need to be built up gradually with his new family.

Is Fred right for you?

Fred is a Collie cross, of approximately three to four years old. We have seen this fab boy grow in confidence since coming into our care and he is now thriving in his foster home. He is soaking up life in a lovely warm home with a sofa to snooze on and his own human to snuggle up to. He was initially wary of new places, but since being with his foster carer he has successfully travelled on a bus, visited a local pub and café, and joined her for an evening of choir practice (although his singing wasn't up to much!). Fred can still be shy of new people, however if things are taken slowly it does not take him long before he makes friends. Fred is a very affectionate boy who will initiate fuss with his humans. He will put his head on your lap and will paw you for more fuss. He is an adorable boy who you cannot help but fall in love with! Fred enjoys playing with soft toys. He likes to snuggle in with them. Fred likes to go for walks, he plods along gently and likes to have a good sniff of his surroundings. His foster carers describe him as "A happy boy, loving and quiet; an easy boy to look after."
