Are you right for Fidget?

Fidget is currently a sponsor dog but now we feel with the right adopters he is ready for his new home. Fidget is a 9 year old Terrier cross, who is looking for an experienced adult only He has had a lot of upheaval in his life and this has resulted in some behaviours that will require further training and management in the home. Fidget's behaviour stems from his anxiety and past experiences, so it's important that new owners are understanding in terms of their expectations with Fidget. Fidget needs owners who are keen to implement positive training methods and are confident to manage a dog who shows resource guarding behaviours. Fidget cannot live in an open plan home and will need to continue crate training in his home to offer a safe space of his own when owners need to pop out. We are working on Fidget's socialising in kennels. He can walk alongside another calm dog over time with training, but he will become overwhelmed in doggy populated areas, and it would be difficult for him to enjoy his time outside in these places. Fidget is so eager to learn and loves to train, so it would be nice for him to be matched with an owner who would enjoy some active walks engaging him with training activities along the way.. He will also need a home with a fully secure private garden, to enjoy outdoor breaks and games with his new owners. He has come on leaps and bounds since coming into us and we hope that he can find a new home who sees his wonderful potential like we do.

Is Fidget right for you?

The rehoming process for Fidget will be very gradual and require patient, committed owners. Fidget will need multiple meets to the centre with potential owners, as well as home visits with our training team. He's a bright, fun boy who will need lots of physical and mental stimulation. Fidget travels very well in the car which is great for day trips elsewhere to give him a variety of walks, once he is settled with his new local environment.
