Delightful little girl Suki is a 10 and a half year old Shih Tzu cross Terrier with the gentlest of hearts! She is the kind of companion who brings a quiet joy to every day, she is sweet natured and affectionate and adores spending quality time with her people. She loves a fuss, once she knows you she will happily climb into your lap and have a cuddle and a bottom scratch. She is not really interested in toys, she would rather go on sniffy walks and have snoozes on the sofa. This cute little fluffer is looking for her new home.

Is Suki right for you?

Suki is looking for a calm and quiet home with loving and active adopters who can take her on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help her settle in and give her all the love and attention she deserves. She is a polite and friendly girl but does like her space, so is looking for a home with secondary school children who can play with her nicely and will give her space to rest and relax when needed. Suki needs to live with another calm and friendly dog who will happily co-exist and engage in occasional play, this will be pending successful meetings at the centre. She would also love to have polite and calm walking buddies. Suki has a little training under her belt, she can be enticed to engage in training in short sweet sessions if a tasty treat is on offer and as long as she is feeling safe and secure. She would like a home with a private or communal, secure garden for her to potter about in at her leisure but this is not a necessity. Suki can settle in the home alone for a few hours, although any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once she has had time to settle into her new home. Suki will need to meet her adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog

When we’ve matched you with a dog, we’ll help you welcome them to your home. After adoption we’ll keep in touch to see how you and the dog are doing. If you need any advice or support, we’re just a phone call away.
