Are you right for Skippy?

Skippy is a gorgeous 5-year-old Lurcher with a sensitive soul and a huge heart, who is looking for an understanding home that can offer him calm, structure and security. He needs a private garden and a peaceful home environment without open-plan living, where he can fully relax and have space to enjoy his creature comforts. Skippy can build lovely friendships with calm dogs out and about given slow introductions. There is also potential for him to live with another dog pending successful meets at the rehoming centre. He can live with older children aged 16 and over who can give him space when he needs it and are understanding of his handling preferences. He is a dog who needs to wear a muzzle and lead in public spaces and to the vet.

Is Skippy right for you?

If you are after a loyal walking buddy with a gentle, affectionate side, Skippy might just steal your heart. Once he knows you, he is an incredibly sweet and loving boy who adores his long walks and never says no to a cuddle. Recently, he has really grown in confidence and now happily spends time with several of our volunteers—trotting up to them to ask for fuss with a wagging tail. Skippy is an inquisitive lad who enjoys exploring new environments, and with patient introductions, he builds lasting bonds with people he trusts. He will thrive in a home where his people are actively engaged in his training journey and happy to keep up his training. He may need a little extra time to settle, so leaving hours should be built up gradually, but with routine and reassurance, he will find his stride. Skippy's ideal home is one where he can feel secure, understood, and very much loved. If you are the kind of person who believes in second chances and has the time and heart to offer a dog the patience he needs, then Skippy could become the most devoted companion you could wish for.
