Are you right for Walker?

Walker is a 6-year-old Greyhound who is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can feel safe and settled. He would thrive best in a small, quiet residential area away from busy roads and his walks will need to be in low-traffic locations while he continues to build confidence. Walker will also need patient adopters who are happy to gently work on his confidence with car travel, keeping journeys limited at first and helping him gradually feel more at ease. A home with a secure garden would be ideal to support his ongoing house training, along with access to a safe, enclosed area where he can stretch his legs and enjoy a good run. Due to his size and occasional bouncy moments, a home with secondary-school-aged children would suit him best, although sensible younger children could be considered for the right family.

Is Walker right for you?

Walker offers an abundance of affection and gentle companionship. He is an incredibly sweet-natured boy who adores human company and absolutely lives for cuddles, often nudging you for more attention. Calm and easy to settle, he’s just as happy snoozing for most of the day as he is bursting with excitement for a walk. He’s very food-motivated so adopters should be prepared for a clever counter-surfer and put sensible feeding routines in place. He loves to play, especially with his toys (squeaky, fluffy ones are his favourite!). Friendly and social, he enjoys meeting new people and would be comfortable in a home with regular visitors. Out on walks, he can be a little enthusiastic at first but soon walks nicely on the lead, and he enjoys the company of similar sized dogs. His chase drive means smaller dogs and wildlife should be managed carefully. With his loving heart, playful spirit and gentle soul, Walker would make a wonderfully rewarding companion.
