Are you right for Buddy?

Sweet boy Buddy is an 8 year old German Shepherd cross who finds the world a little scary. He likes his sniffy walks in the woods, followed by a snooze on the sofa. He walks beautifully on the lead on his walks and will happily plod along at your pace. Once he has a bond with you he will sit next to you and watch the world go by and will allow a short gentle fuss, before falling asleep all snuggled up in the warm. This gentle chap is ready to find his new home.

Is Buddy right for you?

Buddy is looking for a calm and quiet home with minimal people in the home and minimal visitors, a home with adopters who can take him on sniffy strolls in quiet walking areas, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He is sweet boy, but is noise sensitive and finds loud noises very worrying, so is looking to live with Sixth form/college aged children who are calm and will play nicely with him and will give him space to rest peacefully when needed. Buddy would like a home with no other pets so he can have all of the attention to himself, he could have polite walking buddies if they give him the chance to approach on his terms. Buddy has a little training under his belt, he knows his name and will come when called, he is too worried here at the centre to engage in any training, but hopefully once he is settle and comfortable in his new home he would be open to learning some new skills. He is looking for a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about and explore in at his leisure. Buddy can settle nicely in the home with the odd whine so could be left for up to 1-2 hours, this would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Buddy will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home, with the potential for home visits to help him settle in so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
