Loads of different dogs on lead walking with their owners on a train platform

We've teamed up with Trainline to help dogs and their owners travel safely and confidently by train.

Train journeys, whether you are commuting companions, or heading for a day out, can be a good experience for many dogs when approached with preparation and care.

Through this partnership, our Canine Behaviour Team is equipping dog owners with practical advice and tools for safe and enjoyable journeys, to ensure their travels are positive experiences for everyone on board.

Our advice supports dog owners in being prepared to meet their dog's needs during train travel. From understanding dog body language to mastering essential skills like "settle" and "leave it," the campaign offers actionable tips to set dogs up for success.

Educating both dog owners and fellow passengers fosters a harmonious travel environment, encouraging respect for dogs’ space and promotes mutual understanding for a safe and comfortable journey.

Once owners have read through the guide and answered the quick questions set by our Canine Behaviour Team, they will be rewarded with a Tailcard for their pooch.

Available in a digital format that can be added to an Apple Wallet or as a physical card, the Tailcard is a fun way to show owners and their canine companion have mastered the basics of travelling safely by train.
