Are you right for Moose?

Meet Moose & Missy Moo, an adorable pair of St Bernard's with hearts just as big as they are! Having spent their whole lives together, these two gentle giants share a very special bond and are looking for a loving home where they can stay side by side. Missy Moo has been described as the gentlest dog you'll ever meet! She's a sweet, loving lady who enjoys snoozing the day away and absolutely adores a cuddle. Her favourite thing in the world is a good bum scratch, and she'll happily give you a little boop to ask for more. We're pretty sure she'd have someone fussing her all day if she could! Missy Moo gets lots of confidence from having her best pal Moose by her side, and the pair love heading out on walks together, galloping alongside each other and sniffing out every interesting scent they can find. Moose, affectionately known as MooMoos, is a fun-loving goofball who has absolutely no idea just how big he is! He's friendly with everyone and everything he meets and loves nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa with his favourite people. Moose absolutely LOVES the water, and we're convinced he'd swim all the way to France if given the chance. Together, these two are a wonderful pair who enjoy life's simple pleasures, from gentle plods and sniffari’s round the garden to cosy afternoons spent snoozing by your side. If you've got room in your heart for two of the loveliest, friendliest dogs, Moose & Missy Moo have a whole lot of love waiting for you!

Is Moose right for you?

Moose & Missy Moo will need a big home for two big dogs! As they’ve had access to acres of land their entire lives, it’s essential for them to have a large garden, giving them plenty of space to enjoy running around without getting on top of each other - or you! They'll also need plenty of space indoors to accommodate two rather large dogs, along with strong, capable adopters who are comfortable handling them. The pair would be happy sharing their home with sensible, dog-savvy secondary school aged children and could also live alongside other dogs and cats, as they’ve done previously. They’re not used to being left alone so will need a multi-person household where family members are around for most of the day and able to build up any leaving time gradually once they’ve had a chance to settle.

How our rehoming process works

  1. 1

Create an account and fill out our application form

If you’re ready to adopt, please complete our form to tell us all about your home, lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but we’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

  2. 2

    Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found...

    We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

  6. 6

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.
