Are you right for Ruggin?

Ruggin is a loveable Terrier with a fun-loving, cheeky character. He’s eager to find an active family, with secondary-school aged children and above, who share his love for adventure, and who could provide him with the enriching lifestyle that he longs for. Much more a fan of his people pals, Ruggin is underconfident around other dogs, and shows this by reacting vocally and tense body language. He’ll require ongoing training and support, with a family who are happy to work with him on his reactivity through confidence building and positive reinforcement. Adopters who have experience of ‘reactive’ dogs would be preferred, although we are here to guide his potential family with a training and management regardless. A secure, private garden is a must for Ruggin. He enjoys letting loose for off-lead zoomies and needs outdoor space to help with his toilet training.

Is Ruggin right for you?

Ruggin isn’t an overly tactile dog and seems to prefer spending time with you on a walk or doing some fun training, rather than lots of fuss. However, he does enjoy gentle fusses on his chest and will become increasingly more affectionate once he’s built up a strong bond. He has shown a playful side and likes to shake around soft squeaky toys on occasion, but his playfulness may develop more once he’s feeling settled in his environment, so a big toy box to choose from would be ideal. Ruggin loves to use his nose and is always keen to explore on his walks, preferring quiet rural places, where he can investigate in peace. If you have a peaceful home to offer a sweet little chap, then Ruggin would love to hear from you!
