Are you right for Smokey?

Smokey is our handsome Husky who is currently out in one of our amazing foster homes. He’s a friendly lad but has been protective of food enrichment in centre so he is best suited to an adult only home where he can have his own safe space. Younger visitors would be ok though, as long as access to resources is managed. Smokey needs to be the only pet in his new home as his doggy social skills aren’t always the best and he can be quite frustrated and nippy with other pooches. Smokey is on some pain medication and on a plan to help him build up muscle on his legs. This is something we’ll discuss in full with his potential adopters. A secure garden will be an essential for Smokey as it’ll give him that outdoor time without the frustration of seeing other dogs.

Is Smokey right for you?

Smokey is a 7 year old Husky who is very true to the breed. He can be chatty, enjoys fuss (but will walk off when he’s had enough!), and also enjoys sniffing and exploring his surroundings. Smokey can be picky with his food but loves his toys which will help him with his training. He settles well when left alone here at the centre so has the potential to be left alone for a couple hours once settled into a new home. Housetraining shouldn’t take him long to perfect as he really tries to keep his kennel clean in centre. Smokey is more than happy to jump into a car and has a good history of car travel so could join his new family on adventures further afield.
