Are you right for Mia?

Meet beautiful Mia, our 10 year old Labrador x Shar Pei. She's a nervous girl looking for calm, patient and understanding adopters. She will need her own secure garden where she can sunbathe and play with her toys to her hearts content. She will need to be the only pet in the home and can live with calm children 14+. She would prefer a home with minimal leaving hours that can be built up gradually at her own pace, she has done great with building this up in foster and can now be left for 4 hours on occasion. Mia can be worried meeting new people so needs things taking slowly and adopters who are comfortable with multiple meets before adoption. Once she has opened her heart to you she has so much love to give and such a wonderful temperament.

Is Mia right for you?

Mia is a sensitive girl who would love adopters who have the time to help her feel settled and build her confidence at her own pace. She can be wary when first meeting people and doesn't like to be handled until she knows and trusts you. She prefers to meet people in her own time. Once she gets to know you she likes to bring her toys to you, her favourites are balls and squeaky toys! She loves going out for walks and adventures but can be a little nervous and avoidant of other dogs so quieter areas are preferred. She will happily jump in the car and settles on the back seat for walks a little further afield. Once she knows you she's a really affectionate girl and the more settled she's getting in her foster home the more we are seeing her playful puppy-like side. The progress we have seen in Mia both in building her confidence has been incredible. She is such a sweet girl and would make a fabulous addition to a quiet, calm home where she can spend time sunbathing in the garden, snoozing on the sofa and going out for adventures with her forever family. She is currently in a foster home so not at the centre.
