Are you right for Joey?

Joey is a 6 year old Labrador. Joey is a sweet boy who has not seen much of the world and has led a quiet and sheltered life in the past. He is looking for a peaceful home with owners who have plenty time and patience to teach and show him some new life skills. He is looking for a quiet home with children aged 10 and above and although he can meet friendly and well mannered dogs outside, he would prefer to be the only pet in the home.

Is Joey right for you?

Joey is shy and can feel overwhelmed in busy or fast paced environments, he much prefers calm and peaceful environments where he can feel safe and relaxed. Joey arrived in our care with little background information and will need committed owners who can care for him and help him to grow in confidence. Joey is a nervous dog who is sensitive to change. Joey has not lived in a house before arriving in our care, but has spent a short time in foster where he got used to normal home things although he will need his owners to understand it will take time for him to adapt to a new home. Joey is currently learning how to walk on his lead and is making steady improvements in rural walking areas however he can't cope walking in areas where he is likely to see many people, dogs, or cars, as he would find this very stressful. Joey is a typical Lab in many ways, he is a total foodie and loves his grub! When he is in the garden he will happily wander around looking for a nice sunny spot to soak up some rays or engage in some zoomies. Joey is looking for patient owners who have experience of owning nervous or fearful dogs before. He will need someone who is at home and who is happy to continue his training at a gradual pace that suits him so he can blossom in to his new home and become part of the family. AWE licence number 176240 by West Lothian Council.
