Are you right for Shadow?

Shadow is a 4-year-old Collie-Lab Crossbreed. Shadow is a very loving bouncy boy who bonds closely to people he spends the most time with. Shadow loves his walks, and could zig-zag from scent to scent forever if you let him! He thrives on going on new adventures and travels well in the car. Shadow has lots of energy, and has more than kept up on 8km runs, but also settles well at home and enjoys a cuddle on the sofa. He is very intelligent and learns quickly, especially if there are some treats involved. He knows all his basic cues and can show off some extra tricks too! Shadow has had an unsettled past and needs owners who will devote their time to him and make him feel safe.

Is Shadow right for you?

Shadow loves nothing more than to play and he will need a secure garden where he can run around to his heart’s desire. Squeaky toys are his favourite and he enjoys games where he searches for hidden toys, and he will then parade them in front of you proudly. Shadow bonds closely with people once he knows them but is sensitive to your tone of voice and takes time to build up trust. Shadow needs a home with patient and committed owners who are willing to meet him several times to build up a relationship and to be shown his current training before taking him home. Shadow thrives on consistency, and he will need a calm, adult-only home. He may be able to live with another calm, confident dog but can sometimes get frustrated when he sees dogs out on walks. Shadow is house-trained, settles when left for a couple of hours in the day, and travels well in the car. He enjoys going on new adventures, is always happy to pose for a photo op, and will happily walk for as long as you are willing to take him, however he can find busy areas stressful and can be vocal when he sees multiple dogs. He is currently enjoying lots of attention in his foster home, and although he has a history of mouthing and jumping up when meeting people, he has learnt to keep his paws on the ground and perform his tricks for a tasty treat instead. Once he has gotten over the initial excitement, Shadow is a very loving and affectionate boy who is very eager to please. AWE licence number 176240 by West Lothian Council
