Are you right for Wade?

Meet Wade, he’s a two-year-old Pug cross with oodles of character and a sweet, yet sensitive nature. Wade was originally found as a stray, and often finds the big wide world overwhelming, so it may take him some time to settle into new environments. However, once he’s built a trusting relationship, his playful and affectionate character begins to shine, and he is a joy to be around. He’s hoping to find a patient and understanding adult-only family, who can allow him to take things at his own pace, while supporting with his confidence. Wade will benefit from continuing to work on reward-based training in his new home, including getting used to the car and building on his canine social skills. He’ll need to be the only pet at home and would prefer quieter walks that can be easily accessed from his house by foot. Minimal visitors to the home, and a peaceful area, where Wade could go to for rest and mealtimes, where he won’t be disturbed, would be ideal.

Is Wade right for you?

Often described as being like an affectionate cat, Wade's carers have nicknamed him 'Cat-Dog'! Once you’ve earned Wade’s trust, he’ll likely enjoy snuggling up in your lap for a fuss and relaxing in your company while having a snooze. When he’s not revelling in all the attention, Wade LOVES to play with his toys and is the sweetest to watch while he’s playing independently; he can often be found throwing his toys around and catching them again! When interacting with his humans, ‘fetch and swap’ is the best way to play, as he can feel unsure when people take things off him. Enrichment activities, such as destruction boxes, kongs, and puzzles feeders, will all be brilliant to keep him busy and should help him to feel less anxious.
