Are you right for Barnabee?

Barnabee is a gorgeous 3-year-old Standard Poodle with a heart as soft as his curls. At first, he can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you—once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal shadow and biggest cuddle bug. In fact, he’s convinced he’s a lap dog (despite his size) and thrives on affection and attention. Barnabee is clever and eager to please, already knowing tricks like sit, down, and paw. He enjoys mental stimulation and would love a family that enjoys teaching him new things. He’s okay being left alone for short periods, but he much prefers having his humans close by. He’s previously lived with a cat, so he could potentially share his home with a cat. However, Barnabee will need to be the only dog in the household—he prefers to have all the love to himself!

Is Barnabee right for you?

Barnabee’s ideal home is a quiet one with no other dogs and people who understand the needs of a nervous dog. Experience with shy or sensitive dogs is a big plus, as Barnabee will need a family willing to take things slow and help build his confidence over time. He could live with calm, secondary-school-aged children who respect his space and let him come to them in his own time. Because building a bond with Barnabee is so important, we’d like potential adopters to meet him a few times before he goes home, to help develop that trust. If you’re patient, loving, and ready to share your life (and your couch!) with a sweet, smart boy who just needs a little time to shine—Barnabee might be the perfect match for you. Barnabee is currently not in the centre as he is on our home stay scheme
