Are you right for Douglas?

Douglas is a 9-year-old poodle cross who is ready to find a loving home of his own. He is confident meeting new people and is instantly friendly with everyone he meets, making him a lovely companion to have around the home. Douglas is also friendly when meeting other dogs. He has a medium energy level – he will enjoy going out for walks, but he’s just as happy curling up on the sofa for a cosy snuggle afterwards. Douglas could live with dog-savvy children aged 11+ who will understand his needs and won’t overwhelm him. He can be left for a few hours once settled, but any leaving time will need to be built up gradually. A secure garden is important for Douglas so he can safely potter around and enjoy some outdoor time at his own pace.

Is Douglas right for you?

Douglas is a super sweet boy who hasn’t had the best start in life, but he is already proving to be a wonderful house guest in foster care. Because he has had a very sheltered life, he will need complete rehabilitation and patient adopters who understand that many everyday things will be new and sometimes a little scary for him. He will need ongoing help with housetraining and basic training, although his foster carers have already started working on this and he is making lovely progress. Douglas travels well in the car, making him a great companion for days out once his confidence grows. Douglas does have some medical needs which can be discussed further upon application. With time, patience, and plenty of reassurance, Douglas will blossom into a devoted and loving companion – he simply needs a family willing to help him build his confidence and finally give him the happy life he truly deserves. 🐾
