Are you right for Colonel?

Colonel is a big, handsome lad who arrived in our care as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past. What we do know is that he has a heart as large as his paws and is ready to find a forever home of his own. He’s a fun-loving boy who adores playtime, zooming around the compounds, and enjoying his favourite toys. With his friendly nature, we think Colonel could live with children aged 8+ who are confident around bigger dogs, as he can sometimes be a little bouncy and excitable. We’re still getting to know how he feels about other dogs, so for now Colonel will need to be the only pet at home. As we learn more about him, this may change. Colonel has been proudly showing off his tricks like "sit", "paw", and "down" and is always keen to perform them in exchange for a tasty treat or two! He’s also enjoying learning new things and is picking up training brilliantly. Due to his size and enthusiasm, he can be strong on the lead, so he’ll need adopters who are confident and physically able to continue his loose-lead training. With his eagerness to please and love of food, we’re sure he’ll make great progress. As he’s starting fresh, Colonel may need support with the basics of home life, including housetraining. Any time left alone should be introduced gradually, with plenty of enrichment to keep him busy.

Is Colonel right for you?

Colonel is a beautiful boy who will bring so much love (and a little bit of slobber) to his forever family. He has recently had surgery on eyes and our team in centre would be happy to discuss his ongoing needs with any potential adopters. He doesn't let this slow him down one bit and still loves to greet everyone he meets out on his walkies with a big waggy tail.
