Are you right for Wednesday?

Wednesday is looking for a home with a private, secure garden, as this will give her the safe space she needs for exercise on days she isn’t feeling walks. She can sometimes react to other dogs and prefers not to share her space, so she must be the only dog in the home and, due to her prey drive, she will need to remain on-lead when out on walks. Wednesday cannot live with cats but could live with small pets if they are kept separate from her. Car travel isn’t her favourite, so adopters who don’t need to drive her regularly would be ideal. She can live with secondary‑school‑aged children who will give her the gentle affection and quiet companionship she adores. Wednesday will make a loving, easygoing companion for a family willing to support her confidence and embrace her relaxed, affectionate way of life.

Is Wednesday right for you?

Meet Wednesday, an 8‑year‑old greyhound with a sweet, gentle nature and a love of life’s quieter moments. Wednesday is happiest when she’s snoozing the day away, watching the world drift by at the weekend, or cuddling up with her favourite humans. She has lovely manners in the home and will politely head to the back door when she needs to go out. Wednesday is friendly with everyone she meets, and she’s perfectly content popping on a cosy coat when the weather turns chilly. While she enjoys mooching about, Wednesday can sometimes freeze on walks, so she may prefer spending most of her time relaxing at home and pottering in the garden while her confidence is slowly built up at her own pace.

Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re …

When we find a match, we’ll invite you to meet them

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog

When we’ve matched you with a dog, we’ll help you welcome them to your home. After adoption we’ll keep in touch to see how you and the dog are doing. If you need any advice or support, we’re just a phone call away.
