Are you right for Dash?

Dash is looking for a loving home with adult adopters. He will need opportunities to walk with calm, friendly dogs when out and about, but in the home he would enjoy being the only dog. He will need a home without cats or small furries, and care maybe needed around livestock. It takes Dash time to build a bond, he could cope with a few regular visitors, but would be best suited to a less busy home environment. Home life is new to Dash, and he is doing really well living off-site in a foster home on our Home from Home Scheme. Anyone interested in adopting Dash should be willing to come to the centre a few times so you can build a bond with each other, and then Dash can do gradual visits to the home prior to adoption. To facilitate this, we ask that potential adopters live within an hour of the rehoming centre. Dash’s dream home would be in the countryside, nice and peaceful, away from traffic, with limited noise and with a nice secure, enclosed garden.

Is Dash right for you?

Dash is stunning ten-year-old Greyhound. He fits the definition of a couch-potato well, as he loves to either stretch out or curl up on a nice comfy dog bed, human bed, or sofa. He is a gentle, sensitive soul and food is the way to his heart. He has a big love of chicken, cheese, and hot dog sausage, and this is the start of a great friendship. Once you have Dash as a friend you will see his personality shine. He enjoys doing zoomies in his garden throwing soft toys into the air and catching them. He is happy to travel in the boot of the car to go for quiet, peaceful walks in rural areas. Dash can get overwhelmed if there is too much going on around him, and he will need his walks to be free from traffic and crowds. He is not a dog that could cope with towns, cafés, or trips to the pub. Dash walks nicely on his lead and plods along gently right by your side. He enjoys the company of calm and gentle dogs and gains confidence from walking with them, he would benefit from joining other dogs on his walkies. Dash has been trained to happily wear a muzzle for when out and about. Dash is affectionate with his human friends, and he loves a good bum scratch and a fuss. Dash is currently enjoying life in a foster home, we have plenty of updates on how well he is doing in a home environment, so please get in touch if you would like to know more about him.
