Are you right for Ernest?

Meet Ernest, a lovely one-year-old German Shepherd, whose had a tough start to life but is now looking for a supportive and loving home. He would thrive in a quieter residential or small town setting with access to open spaces and calmer walking routes. Ernest needs a home with a garden so he can enjoy a run around in a secure area and continue his toilet training. He’s also looking for a household where people are around for most of the day, as he doesn't enjoy being left alone and simply loves the company of his humans. He could also live with sensible secondary school-aged children as long as they can respect his boundaries and give him space when needed. His ideal adopters will be keen to continue his training, particularly around lead manners and social skills with other dogs, and would be happy to incorporate enrichment like scentwork or man trailing to keep his clever mind busy. He would really benefit from owners willing to provide ongoing support for his physical development through gentle exercise and physio. Ernest will also need adopters who understand the importance of gradual introductions to new people and situations.

Is Ernest right for you?

At heart, Ernest is a big softie, who would make an incredibly affectionate and endearing companion, forming strong bonds with his people. He loves leaning in for cuddles and soaking up affection from those he trusts, showing just how much love he has to give. Playtime is one of his favourite things, whether it’s a game of fetch, tug or proudly carrying his beloved toys along on walks. He’s a bright, food-motivated boy who enjoys learning and while he can sometimes be a little clumsy in his enthusiasm, it only adds to his charm. Ernest may start off unsure in new situations, but with the right guidance he quickly builds confidence and shows his friendly, sweet nature. For someone willing to invest time and understanding, Ernest will be a loyal, fun-loving friend who brings plenty of joy, affection and love into the home.
