Are you right for Shadow?

Shadow is a gentle, sensitive girl aged 6 years and 7 months who has become a firm favourite with her handlers, slowly coming out of her shell she has shown a soft spot for lots of bum scratches followed by playtime with her cuddly toys. She can be wary and avoidant initially when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, she’ll approach politely. New adopters may need to meet multiple times to build a friendship before she goes home. Out and about, Shadow enjoys exploring new areas at her own pace, though she can be a little worried in unfamiliar surroundings to begin with, she soon finds her confidence and enjoys a good sniff about. Shadow would very much like to be involved in family life and join you on lots of lovely walks and adventures. Around other dogs, she shows polite but conflicted behaviour—curious but cautious, although she doesn’t want to live with another dog, she could enjoy walking alongside calm canine companions after gently introductions. Shadow would be best suited to a home with children aged 14 and over who can respect her space and help her feel secure.

Is Shadow right for you?

Shadow needs a not overly busy home with a private garden where she can build her confidence gradually and have a safe outdoor space to call her own. Her ideal adopters will be patient and willing to go at Shadows pace. She has medium energy levels and can be left for a few hours once settled, though this will need to be built up slowly while she gets to know her new home. With time, consistency, and gentle reassurance, Shadow will become a loyal and rewarding companion for someone who truly understands her needs. If you can offer her the calm and supportive environment she deserves, Shadow could be the perfect match for you and will reward you with lots of big fluffy cuddles.
