Are you right for Hogie?

Meet Hogie, an amazing 2-year-old German Shepherd cross. He's on the search for an extra special home where the family can make regular visits to our rehoming centre to learn all about him and his training plans. His new home should be within a reasonable travel distance too so he can come for a few home visits to get used to his new surroundings. The youngest members of the family should be older teens who are familiar with the joys of big and sometimes bouncy dogs. Hogie would like to be the only dog in the home but would like dog friends out and about. Hogie loves a game of fetch, so a secure garden with 6ft fencing all around would be essential. His dream home would be in a quiet environment, free from any visitors whilst he settles in. Hogie is a clever boy who has learnt lots of life skills here at the centre and he's looking for adopters who are happy to continue his training in the home as well as work alongside our behaviour team to set him up for lifelong success. Please be aware that Hogie has allergies which is currently being managed with ongoing medication, this will likely need to be continued in the home. If you rent your property, please ensure you have written permission from your landlord before applying for a dog.

Is Hogie right for you?

Hogie is a lovely boy with a fun and bubbly personality! His favourite past times include fetching a ball, learning fun new things and splashing around in water. He also loves a cuddle with his favourite people but if he gets over-excited he can start to act a little silly, which can sometimes translate into being mouthy. The perfect match for this boy would therefore be adopters who are keen learners and are interested in reward-based training to help him make better decisions. Hogie has an abundance of love to offer and with patience and understanding, we have no doubt that Hogie will be an excellent addition to the right home. Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.
