Are you right for Dora?

Dora can live with children aged ten and over but need to be the only pet at home. She is mostly house trained but does have the occasional accident, and she has recently had major surgery to remove some tumours and ulcers, but has made a full recovery.

Is Dora right for you?

Dora is a super middle aged Frenchie but the poor girl has really been through the mill recently. From an ulcerated eye to tumours and pyometra, she has seen more of our vet's recovery room than she would like, and would be happy to settle in to her new family life. Her handler Nicola has been helping her recover by letting her convalesce at home with her, where Dora has made herself very comfy very quickly! She's a very friendly dog who has been known to mooch her way around the staff room doing her best to get treats from everyone, but she can be picky when it comes to goodies. Dora has bonded well with a young boy in the foster home and we would have no issues placing her in a family that has children around the age of ten, she has been very well behaved. She travels well in the car and settles down for her journeys. Dora can be hit and miss with other dogs; her poor eyesight means that she often mistakes items such as binbags for other dogs and she an become reactive. She does have potential for doggy pals though, as she gets along very well with Gloria Bulldog. We wouldn't rehome her with another dog but we would certainly encourage some suitable friends for walkies. Dora eats her food quickly and we use a slow feeder to prevent her from regurgitating it and would like her adopters to do the same.
