I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Rehoming me starts here' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match. Please note if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog.

Type of home needed

Kazen is a big beautiful boy with a sensitive soul, looking for a new home with a family who are experienced with rescue dogs and ideally malamutes or huskies as Kazen is very typical of the breed. He enjoys going for walks and knows to take treats gently from your hand. He can be unsure of new people so will need a patient family willing to put the time in to help him build his confidence. Although it may take a little while, once he gets to know you, Kazen has a cheeky side that he shows off to those he trusts the most! He will need to meet you multiple times at the centre so he can get to know you before he can go home.

More about me

9 year-old Kazen is looking for a calm, quiet, single adult household with no visiting children to understand his needs and accept him for who he is. He can be very strong on the lead at times so will need his owner to be physically robust to be able to keep hold of him if he does decide he wants to go for an impromptu run! Kazen will need to be kept on the lead in public at all times so needs a private garden so that he can enjoy plenty of off-lead time too. He is house-trained and once settled will be able to be left for short periods but needs to be the only pet at home. Kazen lived most of his life in a home, but since he came to us (through no fault of his own) we have been unable to sucessfully rehome him, he is a lovely lad looking for his retirement home and deserves a second chance for finding his forever family.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Basildon Rehoming Centre in Essex.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
