Are you right for Marley?

Marley and his lovely friend Lily are excited to find their forever home together! Marley is a friendly, affectionate dog who would thrive in a quieter to moderately busy home. He can be sensitive to louder noises—such as vacuum cleaners or outdoor sounds—and may bark when startled, so a calm and reassuring environment will help him feel safe and relaxed. He could happily live with secondary‑school‑aged children, as he has shown sociable, friendly behaviour around people of all ages. Younger children may be a bit overwhelming for him due to his sensitivity to noise, so a slightly older, calmer household would suit him best. Marley is a truly loving, joyful little dog who, together with Lily, will make a gorgeous pair for a family ready to welcome two devoted companions.

Is Marley right for you?

Marley is a wonderful four‑year‑old Dachshund who recently came into our care with his best friend Lily, after their owners’ circumstances changed. Marley is a sweet, affectionate boy with a truly people‑oriented nature. He adores fuss and will gently nudge your hands for more cuddles, soaking up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. He also has a playful side and loves interacting with soft toys. Out on walks, Marley is a lovely companion—he walks nicely on the lead and enjoys exploring new sights and smells. He may occasionally bark at other dogs, usually in response to Lily, but he quickly settles with gentle reassurance. Marley is currently thriving in foster care alongside Lily, where he has shown lovely social behaviour with people and plenty of enthusiasm for playtime. Both dogs have previously been left for longer periods and tended to bark toward the end of that time, so we’re looking for a home where they can be left for around 2–3 hours, with this gradually built up. Marley travels well. He happily accepts being lifted into the car and usually drifts off to sleep within the first 10 minutes of the journey.
