Are you right for Norman?

If you are looking for a fun and clever companion who thrives on training and loves to snuggle up after a good brain workout, Norman might just be your perfect match. This loveable four-year-old Bull Lurcher is bursting with character and affection, and is looking for an active, adult-only home where life is calm, structured and full of positive reinforcement. Norman can find handling and busy environments a bit overwhelming, so he needs owners who are patient, understanding, and ready to support his ongoing training — especially around vet visits and more formal interactions. He will need to be kept on lead in public and wear a muzzle at the vets. A secure, private garden (with fencing of 6ft or higher) is a must, as Norman enjoys having a safe space to explore, dig, and watch the world go by. Open-plan homes are not for him — he feels more settled when there are separate areas and baby gates can be used to help manage spaces like the front door and the kitchen. Once he has settled in, time left alone will need to be built up very gradually, as he finds separation quite hard.

Is Norman right for you?

Norman is a loyal and enthusiastic lad who loves nothing more than being with his favourite people. He adores fuss, leans in for cuddles, and will often flop right into your lap if you let him. He has plenty of energy and will flourish in an active home with a predictable routine, a strong bond with his people, and regular outlets for physical and mental stimulation. He is full of fun — whether he is playing tug, chasing after toys (which he might then promptly shred!), or showing off his training in exchange for a tasty snack. He is wonderfully affectionate and friendly when meeting new people, though he can get frustrated if he sees someone he cannot greet straight away. He is working hard on learning to manage his excitement and already knows a range of cues. He especially enjoys going to his raised bed for ‘place’ so he can be calmly clipped into his harness. While Norman is not currently housetrained in kennels, he is very smart and with the right routine and support, he will pick things up quickly. Norman does have an ongoing medical condition which will need managing and monitoring in his forever home. Our team at the centre would be happy to talk you through all of his needs. Norman is a big-hearted boy with a sensitive side, and he will thrive in a committed home where he can feel safe and understood. If you have the time, structure, and love to give, Norman will repay you tenfold — with loyalty, laughter, and plenty of full-body leans.
