Are you right for Ernie?

Ernie is a sensitive and sweet-natured 4-year-old boy who is currently finding kennel life a little overwhelming. Meeting new people can make him feel worried at first, and he needs patient adopters who will allow him time to build trust at his own pace. Ernie is closely bonded with his best friend Bert, and they are looking for a home together where they can continue to give each other confidence and reassurance. He can feel conflicted when meeting other dogs and prefers companions his own size; however, he can enjoy walking buddies with calm-natured dogs. Ernie would be best suited to a calm household with children aged 14+ who understand and respect his space when he needs time to reset. A secure garden is a must, giving him a safe area to relax and potter. Bonded pair to be homed together.

Is Ernie right for you?

Ernie has a medium energy level and is cautious in new environments, often looking to his humans — and to Bert — for reassurance. Once he feels safe, he is a loving boy who enjoys a comfy lap for cuddles and gentle walks where he can explore at his own pace. He can be left for a few hours once fully settled into his new routine. Ernie will thrive in a peaceful home that can offer patience, understanding, and plenty of affection. If you have a quiet home, a secure garden, and room on your sofa for two best friends, Ernie and Bert could be the perfect addition to your family.
