Are you right for Calvin?

Calvin is a 10-year-old Chihuahua who is hoping to find an understanding home where he can feel truly part of the family. He would thrive with patient adopters who are around for most of the day and happy to slowly build up his time left alone, as Calvin forms strong bonds and feels most secure when close to his people. A home with regular access to an outdoor space will support him as he continues to develop his house-training routine, and a steady environment will help him relax and find his confidence. Calvin could live happily with sensible, secondary school aged children who are able to read his body language and respect his boundaries. He would appreciate adopters who understand that he can feel unsure around other dogs, particularly larger ones, and who are happy to support him in these situations. Calvin will also need some gentle assistance with car travel, as he benefits from help getting in and out of the car and feels most reassured when someone sits beside him.

Is Calvin right for you?

Once Calvin feels safe and settled, his delightful disposition truly shines. He may be little but he’s bursting with charming character, a lovely nature and a wonderfully funny personality. He may be a little reserved at first, but he’s quite happy to say hello to new people and will soon be introducing himself. When he trusts you, Calvin becomes incredibly affectionate and adores cuddles, especially a cosy chest scratch. His absolute happy place is curled up on your lap, preferably tucked under a warm duvet. He enjoys short walks, perfectly content pottering about and taking in the world at his leisure. Toys aren’t Calvin’s favourite as warmth, comfort and companionship are what truly matter. Whether he’s perched on the arm of the sofa watching you cook or nestled beside you on the couch, Calvin is a loyal little companion who will bring endless warmth, devotion and laughter to the right home.
