Are you right for Jess?

Jess is a very friendly and affectionate 7-year-old Boxer who has settled instantly into her foster home and adapts quickly to new surroundings. She loves meeting new people and has a joyful, boisterous personality, often jumping up for cuddles—something that can be improved with continued training. Jess would thrive in an active home that can match her moderate to high energy levels and provide her with regular exercise and mental stimulation. She walks nicely on a loose lead but is strong and has pulled when excited by other dogs or horses, so a confident handler is important. Due to her size and enthusiasm, Jess would be best suited to a home with older secondary school aged children who are comfortable around larger dogs.

Is Jess right for you?

Jess is a loving, fun girl with a big personality and plenty of affection to give. She travels well in the car, happily jumping in on her own, and can be left for short periods—currently up to two hours—where she settles well, with potential to build this up gradually. While she loves being around people, Jess can be overwhelming for other dogs due to her excitable nature, so she would benefit from further socialisation and training to help her understand boundaries. For this reason, she would be best as the only dog in the home. Jess is currently living with foster carers and is not available to view at the centre, but you can register your interest by favouriting her on your online application.
