Are you right for Paddy?

Meet Paddy, he is a cool guy who looking for a compassionate and understanding home that are happy to work with him and continue his training that he has been doing at the centre. Paddy would like to be the only dog in the home but he can have dog pal's out and about. Paddy is looking for an adult only home which doesn't have lots of visitors. He would love access to an enclosed garden where he can bond with his family and have a good game of fetch with a tennis ball. Paddy hasn't been in a home for a little while so he would ideally like his new adopters to be home most of the time initially so he can have his leaving hours built up. Paddy's new home set up should include a separate room or even just a area that he can call his own. Paddy will thrive better in a relatively quiet area with access to pleasant walks, that includes lots of intriguing sniffs.

Is Paddy right for you?

Paddy is a Basset Hound x Dachshund x Beagle. He is larger than your average sized Dachshund, but that just means more of Paddy to love! At 3 & a half years old, Paddy is still very young and will need a moderate amount of exercise so is looking for fairly active adopters that can take him on interesting walks to help him burn off some energy. Although he at times likes having a cuddle with known people, he can be wary of unfamiliar people so therefore he has to be muzzled and kept on lead out on walks, he is fully muzzled trained so doesn’t mind wearing it! Potential adopters may need to do a few meets at the centre before Paddy is comfortable and we would also like to do home visits with him to make the adoption process run smoothly for both adopters & Paddy. Paddy loves playing with a tennis ball and having a treat or two! Paddy shows you through his body language when he is not comfortable, our training and behaviour team can help show adopters what to look out for and how to read Paddy when he may be getting overwhelmed. Please note that you won't be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you're looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you've submitted your application, we can't change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.
